Design Q & A

August 29, 2011

An Interview with Charles Eames

From what I've learned through this video and the other various things I've read, Charles Eames was a pretty spectacular dude. He took a generation focused on functionality and forced them to become consumers of not only that but also creativity and aesthetics. One particular answer of Eames really stuck out: he will never compromise but is still always willing to accept constraints. It quote really jives well with my other posts. As designers, we walk on tight ropes. We teeter between functionality and aesthetics and while we should always accept challenges, we must strive to create creative solutions free of compromises.
