Society loves a product that taps into both the visceral and the behavioral. We want a product that will work and be reliable, but we also want a product that will make us happy. As Mr. Norman pointed out, "Pleasant things work better." Who wants to write a critical paper using a yellow No. 2 pencil and lined paper? Wouldn't everyone prefer the simplistic reliability of Apple's Macbook Pro?
